Accredited vs. Non-Accredited Schools:
Students must know the difference between accredited and non-accredited, or non-recognized accreditations, and the right questions to ask. Otherwise they might be in for a rude awakening when, after having successfully completed a program or course, they find out that they have virtually nothing to show for their money and efforts because the school was not licensed or accredited.
Educating The Consumer
There ARE legitimate institutions that offer the medical assistant program that are not accredited, but they are licensed by their local Department of Education.
These institutions go through a rigorous review process by a commission of state elected officials who verifies that the school meets a standard set of criteria. Of these schools, many of them plan or are currently in the process of completing accreditation status.
Here are 5 Important things you need to consider when deciding on a medical assisting program:
